Climate & Weather in Argentina

Flag of Argentina

The weather in Argentina is as diverse as the terrain. Because the country stretches from the tropical edge of Brazil all the way south to almost the tip of Antarctica, the range in temperature during any season is vast with subtropical north to arid/sub-Antarctic in far south. Since Argentina is in the southern hemisphere, the wormest months will be around New Years and the coldest will be around mid-year.

The best time to visit Buenos Aires is in spring (September through November) and in fall (March through May). Summer (December through February) in the capital is hot and humid. Summer is the best time to visit Patagonia, when the weather’s milder and more services are available. Northern Argentina can be extremely hot in summer and is best visited in spring or winter.
