Aruba is generally a safe place for tourists. Take the usual precautions regarding dark alleys and leaving valuables lying around or in parked cars.

In case of an emergency (police, fire, medical) dial 911 from any telephone. The number for hospital and ambulance is 5874300.

Visitors should be aware that the island is sometimes used as a drug passageway from South America to Europe and North America. It is advised never to leave bags unattended nor agree to carry a package for anyone.
