Climate & Weather in Colombia

Flag of Colombia

The north of the country along the Caribbean coast enjoys hot tropical climate with rainy season from May to November and average temperatures about 25°C / 77°F. Eastern parts of the coast experience dryer conditions and higher temperatures. The Pacific coast also features tropical climate but is much more rainy all year round with only short dry season along its southern part.

The Andes experience two dry seasons and two rainy seasons. The rainy seasons are usually from April to June and between September and November. However, weather in the Andes greatly depends on the elevation, so the seasons may start earlier or later. The capital Bogota has two rainy seasons - one in April and May and the second one between September and December.

The best time to tour Colombia is either from December to March or from July to August when the country experiences less rainfall.
