The climate in Czech Republic is continental and temperate with relatively hot summers and cold, cloudy and snowy winters. Due to the landlocked geography the country experiences high temperature difference between summers and winters. Most of the rainfall happens during the summer months.
There are large variations in the temperatures depending on the elevation.
For example, the lowlands in south Moravia have annual average temperature of 10°C / 50°F where the highest points in the Sudety Mountains (Sudetes) only -0.4°C / 31°F.
June to August are the warmest months and December to February are the coldest. The best times to visit Czech Republic are probably May and September when it's off summer season and the weather is comfortable enough.
