Climate & Weather in Denmark

Flag of Denmark

Denmark has a temperate, mild climate influenced by the surrounding seas and west winds. Summers are mild-warm and winters are not particularly cold. The country experiences relatively uniform distribution of rainfall throughout the year. There aren't large differences between temperatures at day and at night. Sudden changes of temperatures occur as a result of winds and their directions.

Because of the Denmark's latitude, the country experiences big differences in the hours of daylight between summer and winter. The shortest days have a sunrise at around 8am and a sunset around 3:30pm, while summer days are very long with sunrise at 3:30am and sunset at 10pm.

Best months to visit Denmark are either summer periods of late June, July and August, when tourist can enjoy long days and longer hours at many attractions, or the late spring (May to mid June) when there are considerably less crowds and the weather is already comfortable enough.
