Fiji Islands have a tropical climate, characterized by warm dry winters (April to October) and hot wet summers (November to March). Even during winter the daytime temperatures can reach 30°C / 86°F. The coastal regions on the main islands receive about 200-300cm / 79-118" of rain annually, where the mountains about three times as much.
Most of the rainfall comes as heavy but short local showers.
The cyclone season in Fiji is from December to April, but Fiji islands have rarely been affected by serious tropical cyclones in the past.
The best time to visit Fiji is between May and October, during the winter, when there is less rainfall, temperatures are milder and the humidity is lower. This is also the high tourist season that peaks in June and July.
