The capital of Bavaria cannot be missed on your vacation to Germany. The city is one of the top tourist attractions and offers many great sightseeing opportunities. It is characterized by its unique culture, parks, museums, historical buildings, folklore and, of course, the Octoberfest. Munich really takes care of its citizens - excellent transit system, many outdoor public pools and the wonderful English Garden - the largest metropolitan park in Europe. Hamburg
Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city and biggest port situated on the Elbe River in the north part of the country. The city is full of fine restaurants, theaters, museums, and concert halls. Hamburg is a vibrant, cosmopolitan and prosperous city, also known for its lively red-light district (Reeperbahn).
Although most of the city was destroyed during the Second World War, Hamburg has its small historic section - Altstadt - that's worth exploring during your vacation to Germany.

Rothenburg ob der Tauber
Sightseeing in Germany wouldn't be full without a visit to one of the many old, medieval German towns. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a town in Bavaria, located between Frankfurt and Munich. It is well known for its beautifully preserved medieval architecture in Altstadt surrounded by undamaged 14th-century town wall. It is a big tourist attraction and definitely worth seeing, particularly the city hall (Rathaus) and St. Jakob's Church (St. Jakobskirche) with a Tilman Riemenschneider's carved wood altarpiece.
Sylt
The island of Sylt is located in northern Germany at the North Sea. It's connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway uses only by trains. Access to the island is by air, by train, by car train or by ferry (from Denmark).
Sylt has long been a popular destination for Germans, particularly the rich ones, marking it a perfect spot to spend relaxed vacations in Germany.
The main attraction of the island is it's nature. Almost half of the island consists of protected sites or conservation areas. Here you can find over 40km (25 miles) of sandy beaches, shifting sand dunes, sea birds and great surfing conditions.
Seaside resorts, fancy restaurants, designer boutiques, taste of unspoilt countryside - all make Sylt an ideal place to relax.
Heidelberg
Another city on the Germany sightseeing "must see" list is the city of Heidelberg, located in the Neckar river valley, in Baden-Württemberg. It is known for its large student population (about 28,000 in a city of 130,000) and it well preserved historical sights. It is a very international and culturally diverse place with rich academic history, charming architecture and unique atmosphere. Major tourist attraction is the Heidelberg Castle. The Altstadt (historical city center), the Hauptstrasse (main street), the Heiligenberg mountain (with a beautiful view of the Altstadt) are also worth exploring.
Bamberg
Bamberg, a Bavarian city of approximately 70,000 residents, has been listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its well preserved historical architecture.
The city is considered one of the most beautiful places in Germany and its pristine examples of medieval architecture attract many visitors. Top sightseeing attractions include: Altes Rathaus, Dom and Domplatz.
