The climate of Guadeloupe is tropical, tempered by trade winds, characterized by warm weather throughout the year and moderately high humidity. There are two seasons: the rainy season from June to October, with humidity reaching 85% and dry season from November to May when the humidity is around 77%.

On average July is the warmest month and January is the coldest; the daytime averages for Pointe-à-Pitre’s are 31°C (88°F) for July and 28°C (82°F) for January. The island of Basse-Terre, because of its mountainous terrain, is usually cooler and wetter than Grand-Terre.

Guadeloupe is located inside the Caribbean Hurricane Belt and it's prone to hurricanes - usually from June to October. The best time to visit Guadeloupe is between November and May, when the weather is relatively dry and humidity lower.
