Honduras is a country in Central America with both Pacific and Caribbean coastlines, bordering Guatemala to the west, El Salvador to the south and Nicaragua to the east.
Country's terrain is characterized by mountains and hills, plateaus, river valleys, and narrow coastal plains. In the northeast lies a large lowland area dominated by jungle - La Mosquitia, known for its exceptional diversity of flora and fauna. Most of Honduras population lives in the western part of the country.
