The healthcare system and medical facilities in Iceland are good and available free or reduced-cost to the residents of European Union carrying European Health Insurance Card. Citizens of countries outside EU should have a travel medical insurance.

Safety

Iceland with its very low crime rate, is among the safest places in the world. The most unsafe place in Iceland is the capital city Reykjavík, where some petty theft occasionally occurs. Police don't carry guns in Iceland.
