Jamaica is an island country in the Caribbean Sea, located 145 km (90 miles) south of Cuba and 161 km (100 miles) west of Haiti (the island of Hispanola). The island of Jamaica - the third-largest in the Caribbean - is 234 km (145 miles) longs and 80 km (50 miles) wide. It consists of coastal lowlands, a limestone plateau and a mountain range of volcanic origin - Blue Mountains, with the highest peak Blue Mountain Peak, at 2256 m (7402 ft).

Jamaica is a very popular tourist destination offering excellent facilities and resorts, beaches, world-class reefs for scuba divers, various activities and attractions, vibrant nightlife, reggae music, superb golf courses as well as pristine nature with variety of fauna and flora or magnificent waterfalls; not to mention the world's best coffee.
