Climate & Weather in Nepal |
 |
| |
Nepal's weather is characterized by four distinct seasons: spring, summer (monsoon), autumn and winter. Spring lasts from March to May, summer from June to August, autumn from September to November and winter from December to February. The monsoon season occurs in the summer, usually starting in June and ending in August to mid September. The monsoon season is also called the rainy season as it brings about 80% of annual precipitation.
Best seasons for traveling are spring (March to April) and autumn (October to November) when the temperatures are pleasant and there is relatively little rain. Autumn, after the monsoon season is over, also introduces clean, fresh air and great, clear views of the Himalaya mountains.
