The climate of the Netherlands is temperate maritime, featuring mild to warm summers, cool winters, frequent rains and a very changeable weather during all seasons. Cloudy skies are very frequent.

The precipitation is evenly distributed over the year but it tends to rain more heavily and for shorter periods during summer. The weather is also relatively uniform throughout the country, with very small differences between regions.
