Climate & Weather in Panama

Flag of Panama

Panama's climate is tropical and features hot days, cooler nights, relatively high humidity (around 80%). There are many microclimates in Panama and the weather conditions vary by location. Average daytime temperatures are about 32°C / 90°F and drop during the night to about 21°C / 70 °F. Mountainous areas are cooler and windier.

The dry season (summer) is from late December to early May and the rainy season (winter) is from late May to early December, with the rainiest regions being the western mountains on the Caribbean Sea. Generally rainfall and humidity are much higher on the Caribbean side than on the Pacific coast, also during the dry season; the Azuero Peninsula on the Pacific coast is the driest place in Panama. Highest temperatures are on the southwest, where the country borders Costa Rica.

Panama is situated outside of hurricane belt and is not affected by hurricanes.
