Climate & Weather in South Korea

Flag of South Korea

South Korea has continental climate with very cold and snowy winters and warm or hot summers. There are four very distinct seasons: spring from mid-March to May, summer from June to August, autumn from September to November, and winter from December to mid-March.

Most of the precipitation is in the summer moths, between June and September; during the dry winter the precipitation is almost entirely snow. Winds are frequent during cold winters, further intensifying the wind chill factor. Spring and autumn feature mild temperatures with some rain. June to September is a typhoon season that affects South Korea occasionally.

South Korea enjoys a lot of sunshine with an annual average of six ours per day, with a lot of the sunny days happening during winter.
