Trinidad and Tobago enjoys a pleasant, tropical climate tempered by northeast trade winds. The weather is marked by two seasons: the dry season from December to May, and the wet season from June to November. The hottest months are during the wet season, which also brings more humidity. Rains are frequent and heavy, but short.
The average annual rainfall is 200 cm / 40" and average daytime temperatures are 32°C / 89°F. Tobago is usually cooler and less humid than Trinidad, mostly due to more constant trade winds.
The islands of Trinidad and Tobago lie outside of the hurricane belt and are not usually effected by these violent storms. The best time to visit Trinidad and Tobago is in the dry season, from December to May.
